Every donation to Our Ocean School helps create opportunity in the Mentawai Islands. Your support goes directly towards two key areas: firstly, helping us continue our everyday classes and programs — with around $30,000 AUD needed each year to keep over 250 students accessing free education, English lessons, and future opportunities.
Secondly, donations help us build the next chapter of OOS: a community-led social enterprise café and future campus vision. The café will create local jobs, provide a real-world space for students to practise English, support local women and families to sell produce and handmade goods, and generate long-term income to sustain the school. As this vision grows, future funds will also help build a permanent school building and staff bungalows, creating a lasting educational hub for the community.
